OED History (as told by Cee)

I’ve been a fan of Enchong Dee since 2006. I first saw him on screen when he played the role of Blue (Mangubat) in Star Magic Presents: Abt Ur Luv. Back then, he was chubby (pero may swimmer’s body) built and had cute semi-curly locks, and with that, I find him really really really cute! And with that, yeah, you know the drill – Crush Alert! 

The feeling went on and on and on… you know the usual fangirl thing to do: I started collecting magazines that featured him on the cover, did intensive research of him (haha!) and of course, watched and supported each and every show he’s in, Even his UAAP competitions, etc. 

After more or less two years of being an avid fan, I’ve decided to create a group on Multiply.com, and name it “Only Enchong Dee” (OED), on November 9, 2008. I know, I know… I could have been more creative with the name, but I was just a kid back then! Anyway… there was a certain “craze” about Multiply groups back then, and so, my goal was to meet Enchong fans online. 

One day, a member of the Multiply fan group showed me a Youtube link. It was a video greeting from Enchong for someone’s birthday. And with that, I patiently tracked where the video came from and eventually came in contact with the one who uploaded it. With all due respect to my kakapalan, I requested a video for me and my best friend (Teehee :”> It’s my birthday gift to her btw). I waited just a day for the answer and I was lucky enough that it was granted! 

And then, that same person suggested to bring the group to a broader medium which is through an online forum, and finally the first online group for Enchong Dee was born - http://onlyenchongdee.proboards.com, founded November 11, 2008. 

Exactly after two months, in January 9, 2009, I had the chance to meet and talk to Enchong Dee (the ever so gwapo, mabango and mabait – the whole experience was so kilig and memorable!). He acknowledged the group and that made the group official. I’ll save the whole story of this first encounter for special anniversary post or something. Hehehe!

I was just 16 and a college freshman back then, and things were new for me, so managing the forum made things complicated. In the end it came to the point that I had to shut down the forum.

Fast forward to the present. Thanks to the craze for Facebook, I revived the group (with the help of my co-admins/online friends) through a Facebook fanpage - http://www.facebook.com/OnlyEnchongDee, founded January 20, 2010. 

OED also partnered with Enchong Dee World (EDW) for a more or less than a year. They adopted the group through their forum “Speak.” But just a few months ago, we’ve decided to part ways to build up a little friendly and healthy competition :)

As for the latest whereabouts of OED for now and hopefully staying here for a long time, we’ve decided to establish our website on Tumblr, http://onlyenchongdee.tumblr.com, founded July 25, 2010. Keeping in mind that we will keep it up-to-date with anything and everything related to Enchong Dee, of course!  

Currently the number of OED members are growing and getting bigger each day as well as the growth of Enchong’s success, and with the help of the ever loving, loyal and hard-working *no-pay-all-for-DEE-love* admins Tin, Anna, Mave, Arsha, Marj and Michiko – OED is going for its 4th year now (2012).
